How many times have you click on an adwords ad link thinking you were going to a certain website, only to be taken somewhere else? Obviously it has been happening to too many people. Google today announced that it will display the landing page’s domain name as part of the headlines on top placement ads.
The change should increase click thru to adsense ads that have strong generic domains. This is another reason to own prime generic domains for your business.

that’s interesting, why would google put their domain on the title though?
Hi,
May 18th Late Update:
Domain Names Now Appearing In Ads In Gmail Accounts:
Example:
$799 Ireland Trip w/Air – Fly RT and stay 6 nights in Ireland for $799.*-www.travelzoo.com

@Michael – what they shown was an example of how it would look. I think they are trying to put truth in advertising. If you end up clicking on a paid ad and its not to the site you thought it was, the conversion rates will be lower. On the other hand, if someone gets to the site they thought it was, the conversion rates should be better.
Hi,
Sorry, I did not mean to put up a ‘live” link… I am not promoting anything.
Does Google own: “Travel Zoo” ?
Otherwise, I do not see ‘Google’s domain’ in the title
Here’s one more quick example:
New Bose® VideoWave™ – Experience the Best Entertainment System We Know How to Build. – www .Bose .com

@Larry ~ Cheers!
Interesting move by Google…We can only hope it helps the domain industry.
But, Google has really never been a friend of small business or “generic domains”…
Who knows with them.
One thing is for sure…they just keep the “SEO” business alive and well.
They make website owners jump through more “hoops” every few day’s…than most, Dolphins, Seals and Whales at Sea World have to jump through…ALL year! 😉
Peace!
Dan
