Rick Latona is one of the most ambitious guys I know. He has built a mini empire done in Atlanta. I enjoy reading his blog and was extremely impressed on his recent bike trip from Atlanta to the Domainer’s Mardi Gras in New Orleans. He overcame obstacles but completed the trip. Well it seems like Rick is up against another big obstacle, a volcano. As of this writing, many airports are closed in Europe. There has been talk about opening various european routes, however even if they open, there is a strong possibility that they will be shut again as the Volcano erupts and further ash is put into the sky. If further airport closures exist, there may be a need to cancel or change the show dates. However, I would not be surprised if Rick has alternate plans(bike, cruise, surboard?) on how to get people to the show.
All the airport will be open tomorrow morning and the show is next week.
Mike
mike,
i just spoke to delta. They told me that each day they have been trying to get approval and it keeps getting pushed back a day. They also said that even if they are allowed to open they could close again depending on the ash. IEven if things open up, if you haven’t booked your plane reservation, it may be difficult to get as they are filling seats with currently stranded passengers.
The show must go on. Nothing is changing from our end. Airlines are pretty organized. When the flights open back up, everyone will get to where they need to go in a couple of days flat. There is still plenty of time before the show and nobody needs to panic.
Of course the media is talking about another volcano or another eruption. Of course they are! That doesn’t mean there is going to be one. They are just being the media.
